Halloween Reading 2018 - Halloween at The Secondhand Bookworm. Imagine spending a week in a haunted bookshop.

Imagine spending a week in a haunted bookshop! Nora Jolly runs The Secondhand Bookworm and it's Shriek-Week in Castletown.

Last week I finished my fifth novel in The Secondhand Bookworm series which takes place in the week leading up to Halloween! It's a great read and stands alone as the perfect Halloween-themed story, or is best read after 'Summer at The Secondhand Bookworm' (book 4 in the series).

It's great to be adding to the series and Halloween at The Secondhand Bookworm now makes five.

There are lots of laughs and plenty of bizarre and spooky happenings in the novel as Castletown puts on Shriek-Week. There are horror movies showing in the old town hall, a ghost trail through the town jail and dungeon, the Duke's Halloween Costume Ball, Slimy Saturday stalls and events (including the Creepy Critters), two zombie apocalyptic walks, The Woman in Black, a terrifying Halloween Waxwork Marquee, stocks and a pillory in the square, ravens, rooks, haunted barns full of coffins, cemeteries filled with Weeping Angels, customers in fancy dress, a silent disco boat, pumpkin carving, piles of Halloween literature and much more as Nora shudders, screams and hides from escaped convicts, Dracula, witches and werewolves and an enormous spider makes an unwelcome appearance among the decorations.

The red plaques have been put up about the town and Nora isn't amused to learn that the ghost of a boy who was trapped down a well haunts the bookshop. The well has been covered and is under the flagstones by the front door, but people swear they can hear him crying. It doesn't help that Mother Death Cap poisoned her children in Nora's new flat up the hill. But at least the Duke pays a visit and Nora receives a welcome surprise at the Castletown Screamie Awards.

'Halloween at The Secondhand Bookworm' is presently being proofread and then it will be available soon to read for free on Kindleunlimted, available to purchase and download and read on Kindle, or to add to your Secondhand Bookworm collection of novels in paperback.

I've set the scene for book six in the series which I shall be working on through October and November. Meanwhile, check out the novels on AMAZON - The Secondhand Bookworm! The series has been rated as an amusing, pleasant, fun, British read.
