for young adults (and older adults too!) set in an English secondhand bookshop
AVAILABLE THROUGH AMAZON
The Secondhand Bookworm (view on Amazon UK HERE) is a rambling old bookshop in an historic town in England, where all manner of people step through the little black door to climb the rickety old staircases that lead to three floors of books upon books upon books and browse the shelves, upon shelves, upon shelves!
Young Nora Jolly works in The Secondhand Bookworm and each day encounters a vast array of customers, be it her often crazy regulars, tourists to the town, visitors to the shop or a number of her friends. There's never a dull moment with customers bringing in books for sale or making outrageous requests, with amusing catastrophes involving seagulls, torrential rain, blocked drains, singing Father Christmases, leaking roofs, visiting libraries, ghost hunters or travelling salesmen and of course, Nora's group of work colleagues.

'Nora and The Secondhand Bookworm' - BOOK TWO in the bookworm series of novels.
AVAILABLE NOW THROUGH AMAZON
A lighthearted, amusing and easy read, this growing series of novels has already captured the attention of readers young and old. See the world of books through the eyes of Nora Jolly, a cheerful girl in her early twenties with a keen eye for literature and an amusing way of looking at the world.

In 'The Secondhand Bookworm', Nora's day begins on a Monday morning in the bookshop at the start of a cool and rainy week in spring. Each chapter covers half a day with three chapters set aside for Saturday. Not every day takes place in the bookshop though for the jaunty Secondhand Bookworm van heads off once a week on calls, travelling the coastal towns and villages of Sussex to visit houses filled with boxes of books and sometimes even whole libraries.

The reader will be amazed at the variety of books that come along, from the instantly recognizable and popular to a rare and unusual tome. Educational as well as enjoyable, it's easy to be drawn into Nora's world and life in The Secondhand Bookworm.

About the author
Author Emily Jane Bevans comes from a line of eccentrics herself!
Her ancestors include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of Sherlock Holmes on her mother's side, as well as a Gypsy princess, a Welsh king and the Favershams of Kent. Her father single-handedly painted the world's only full-scale copy of 'The Sistine Chapel Ceiling' upon the roof of his local Catholic Church, and she and her sister set up an internationally acclaimed film production company where she directs, produces, edits and presents numerous films on the lives of the Saints and English Martyrs which have been featured on BBC1 and broadcast globally on SKY and EWTN.
Emily also worked in a real chain of secondhand and antiquarian bookshops on the south coast of England for ten years and enjoys writing good, clean, amusing novels set in the literary world.
