I was pleased to receive my copy of 'Nora and the Secondhand Bookworm' in the post today. It looks great, feels lovely to hold and is an easy, feel-good and amusing read. I shall be checking carefully through it (and book one) for any typos or missing words that could possibly be lurking (or not lurking) in the text. I find it easier to do one last extra check through in the actual final format and it is easy to make any corrections to the editions. Both books are available to download on Kindle and read for free through Kindle Unlimited with all profits going to Mary's Dowry Productions.

I really enjoy checking the reports on Amazon for reader downloads, paperback orders and KU or KOLL - it's great to see people reading the books and keep up with the latest reports as they are discovered. It is also exciting and encouraging when people take a chance on your novels and give them a read.

Meanwhile, I am beginning work on Book Three - 'Christmas at the Secondhand Bookworm' while the atmosphere of the Season still lingers, and of course 'Fall of an Empire' - the second in my gripping Catholic trilogy of novels, amidst planning for our filming day in March and getting started with some film editing which begins this week.

A trip to Badgers Books, Worthing and some resources

Today (Friday 20th December 2019) my sister had her eye test in Specsavers so afterwards we walked down to Badgers Books, a secondhand bookshop in Worthing just off of Montegue Street. I was interested in buying some cheap old books for mixed media collage canvases that I have been doing lately. I am now not immune to the smell of used books having not worked in a bookshop since 2012. I had become immune to it after ten years running a secondhand bookshop in Arundel (and Worthing and Chichester) but no, it was strong and familiar again like when I first started in my bookshop in 2002... Badgers Books is smaller than the bookshop I worked in and the one that features in my series of novels 'The Secondhand Bookworm'. It was easy to navigate and my sister said she loved the mess, with books piled up everywhere.
